Shigeru Tamura
Born in 1949 in Tokyo. Illustrator and animator.
Tamura expresses poetic and fantastic worlds through his picture books, animated
cartoons, motion pictures and CDs. His pictures, which use a variety of different
mediums such as watercolours, coloured pencils, graphics and photographs are
loved by many, he is the recipient of many children’s book awards and animation
prizes in Japan.
His illustrations have recently been used for the covers of monthly magazines
and he works in an increasing number of fields.
