Tsutomu Murakami
Born in Hyogo in 1943.
His picture book and fairy story illustrations show a lively creative spirit and his fine, delicate lines and fresh young colours are highly respected all over the world.
In 1972 and 1989 he won bronze medals for ‘The Most Beautiful Picture Book’ at the International Book Design Exhibition in Leipzig, for ‘I wish I had a big, big tree’ and ‘Sankichi the Fox’.
His illustrations have wide support and in Japan he is involved in fields such as stamp design. |
