Yoko Tomiyasu
Born in Tokyo in 1959. In addition to being chosen for the IBBY Honour List 2002, Tomiyasu has also won many prizes for children’s literature in Japan. Her fantasy stories, which are imaginatively inspired by Japanese folk tales and flavoured with modern day humour, are loved by many children.
