The Red Candle and the Mermaid

A mermaid leaves her baby on the shore of a seaside village to be raised by an old couple. The girl grows and works decorating candles which are sold as lucky charms to placate the sea god. However, when the couple betray the girl by selling her to a greedy merchant, the same candles become a symbol of the vengeful feelings of the girl's mother.
